IEEE Student Branch of College of Engineering, Munnar was established in 2006. Even though membership dwindled in the ensuing years due to numerous factors and consequently, the once flourishing student branch became dormant, it once again grew active after 2009. Currently, it is one of the most vibrant student branch chapters in the Kerala Section.
Currently, it boasts 50+ enthusiastic members spread across the five student branch chapters of the IEEE technical societies: the Computer Society, the Power & Energy Society, the Industrial Applications Society, the Industrial Electronics Society, and the Power Electronics Society, as well as one affinity group for Women in Engineering. With the support of the respected counsellor and branch counsellor, Dr. Biju K., and the college, the student branch was able to conduct various programs including Cynosure '10, the national level WINGCOM '11, and the infamous Kaizen series.
